In Lake Nyos of Cameroon where 1700 persons were killed by gas
emission in 1986, magmatic carbon dioxide is being supplied from the
bottom of the lake and the concentration of carbon dioxide is
increasing. At present, every technical effort to remove carbon
dioxide is being made.
