This dataset contains metabarcoding data obtained using primers targeting the nematode 18s rRNA gene (V6-V8 region) from root and rhizosphere samples of rice plants grown in field soil from an Italian rice field.Seven treatment groups were included in the study:- The Kitaake wild type- Crispr/CAS9 knock-out mutants in the key diterpenoid phytoalexin biosynthesis genes CPS2 and CPS4, as well as a CPS2/CPS4 double mutant- Kitaake wild type plants treated with the resistance-inducing stimuli beta-aminobutyric acid, acibenzolar-S-methyl or piperonylic acid.The objectives of this study were as follows:- To investigate the role of exuded diterpenoid phytoalexins in the assembly of rice-associated nematode communities.- To investigate the effect of induced resistance, and the changes in root exudate compositions associated therewith, on rice-associated nematode communities.
