Velocity profile data collected by PGS during their 3D surveys between 2023 and 2024.

The dataset consists of physical oceanographic properties such as conductivity, temperature, depth, salinity, density, and water speed collected during 3D geophysical surveys conducted by Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) on behalf of Searcher Seismic along the west coast of Southern Africa, and velocity profiles were also generated throughout the survey. These surveys were carried out aboard the PGS R/V Ramform Atlas, covering extensive areas within several petroleum licence blocks. The data is organized into 14 CSV files and provides comprehensive insights into the region’s oceanographic conditions. The data sharing was facilitated through the South African Marine Research and Exploration Forum (SAMREF) a Operation Phakisa Oceans Economy Lab project.
