Ammodramus caudacutus (saltmarsh sparrow) genome, bAmmCau1

The saltmarsh sparrow (Ammospiza caudacuta) is a small sparrow found in salt marshes along the Atlantic coast of the United States. This sample is from a female captured and released on a marsh in Barn Island Wildlife Management Area in Connecticut, USA. This sample was procured by Chris Elphick and used to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). The project was coordinated by Adrienne Kovach and Lindsey Fenderson of the University of New Hampshire. Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genomes Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Olivier Fedrigo and Erich D. Jarvis.
