Our project investigates the microbial diversity present in mangrove tree sediments located in arid coastal regions of Kuwait. Using metagenomic approaches, we characterize the composition, richness, and functional potential of microbial communities across different sediment zones. Special attention is given to genes involved in hydrocarbon degradation and plant growth promotion, highlighting their biotechnological applications in bioremediation. By linking microbial diversity to environmental contamination levels, we provide insights into how these communities sustain mangrove ecosystem resilience under stress. Ultimately, this study advances understanding of terrestrial microbiology in arid mangrove habitats and underscores the potential of microbes as natural allies in environmental restoration.
