The dataset spans from January 1850, providing 5° grid data as well as global and regional average time series. It is a collaborative product of the Met Office Hadley Centre and the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia. Its latest version is HadCRUT.5.1.0.0, and the data is freely available under the Open Government Licence v3.
