FRIPON Geminid Observations (2016-2023) and Reduced Results Comparison (FRIPON, DFN, WMPL, and AMOS)

This dataset comprises a comprehensive collection of triangulation results for FRIPON-observed Geminid fireballs between 2016-2023, processed independently by four different data reduction pipelines: FRIPON, DFN, WMPL, and AMOS. The core of the dataset is a summary CSV file containing a summary of all triangulation results, where each row corresponds to an individual event identified by an “event_codename.” This codename links directly to the corresponding FRIPON observation files provided in the standardized Global Fireball Exchange (GFE) format (see GitHub – Global Fireball Exchange Standard).

Additionally, the CSV includes pre-luminous deceleration values calculated using the model of Vida et al. (2018). These values, alongside other triangulation parameters (such as trajectory, radiant, and velocity estimates), enable cross-comparison between the different pipelines and facilitate further investigations into meteoroid dynamics and stream properties. The dataset is intended for researchers interested in evaluating and comparing meteor data reduction methodologies, testing alternative processing pipelines. All files are provided under open-access terms to promote transparency and reproducibility in meteor science research.
