Ecological status assessment of watercourses in Benevento, Southern Italy.
收藏资源简介:
The relationship between the quality of watercourses in urban environments and the potential interrelationships with the health of living species, the water quality of streams flowing through the urban fabric of Benevento, in southern Italy, was characterized. Water analyses were conducted at 20 different sampling points using the Pollution Level procedure for Macrodescriptors (volatile organic compounds, trace elements, anions and cations, and bisphenols). Two sampling points were also tested for organic and inorganic contaminants of anthropogenic origin. Total organic carbon (TOC), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), total phosphorus, NH4, N_NO3, and N_NO2 values were determined. The results indicate that the lowest concentrations of DOC, NH4, and N_NO2 were found at sampling point BN20, while the highest concentrations were detected at sampling point BN19. At sampling points BN4 and BN20, a wide variability in macroscopic parameters and contaminants was observed, as well as the presence of bisphenols in some areas. The study highlighted a wide variability in macroscopic parameters and contaminants, highlighting the presence of bisphenols in some areas. The OAH project highlighted the need to monitor urban waterways. The Benevento results show different physicochemical parameters between sampling points, but the presence of bisphenols from microplastics requires further study.
