"Password Based Door lock system"

"\u2014Security has grown to be very essential nowadays in residential areas, commercial premises, and industries. Although the use of mechanical locks is very common, it is faced with various drawbacks including key duplication, picking, amongst others. To overcome such problems, it has led to the adoption of digital locks with the help of embedded microcontrollers. In this research work, a Password-Based Door Lock System has been designed and implemented making use of PIC18F4550 microcontroller. The components used in designing the device include the 4\u00d74 matrix keypad for entering information, 16\u00d72 LCD display and buzzer alarm. Access to the room will only occur once the correct password has been entered. In case the password fails to be entered thrice, the alarm will sound followed by locking of the system temporarily."
