All of the GFs inferred to be transferred into non-anaerobic organisms and their putative recipient eukaryotic clades.

Gene families with two or more OG5 numbers from OrthoMCL (column A) were determined to be homologs as described in the methods section. LTGs found in only one recipient clade (column B) and that returned sufficient functional information (Gene Ontology terms; column C) are assigned broad functional categories as illustrated in Figs 2 and S1. Additional functional information is given in the form of EC numbers, Pfam IDs and PFam domain names as returned by the EggNOG mapper tool and through a search with HMMer, respectively.
