US-Japan Workshop on Regional Assessment, Management, and Business Continuity against Disasters

This white paper is the result of a collaborative workshop held at Kyoto University on February 28 - March 2, 2023 between U.S. and Japanese researchers. The goals of the workshop were to outline the current state of the art in regional risk assessment, exchange ideas on knowledge gaps and research questions, discuss modern challenges, and outline future pathways towards collaborations that makes use of the country-specific knowledge and perspectives of both countries. This white paper summarizes the outcomes of that workshop.
