Datasets on Measured Noise Levels for Kota Metropolis, India

The noise level measurement at 28 sampling locations includes industrial areas, residential areas, commercial areas, silence zones, busy roads (National Highway 52, National Highway 27) and road junctions (circles, three-ways, two-ways), parks and Garden areas in Kota Metropolis was recorded.
The sound level meter is calibrated before taking measurements. It (HTC SL-1350) was held 1.5 meters above the ground surface and 3.5 away from any reflecting surfaces. The WHO and Indian standards were considered before collecting the data of noise levels in the metropolis.
Noise levels were recorded for day time (6:00 am – 10 pm) and night time (10:00 pm – 6:00 am) as per Indian standard time for measurement given by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India.
From the observation data, noise indices such as Leq (equivalent sound pressure level, A-weighted), Lmin (minimum noise level), Lmax (maximum noise level), the exceedance percentiles (L10, L50, L90), LN (Night Noise Levels), LD (Day Noise Levels), TNI (Traffic Noise Index), LNP (Noise Pollution Level), NC (Noise Climate), and NEI (Noise Emission Index) was calculated.
