Transcriptomes from the demosponge Amphimedon queenslandica swimming larvae that exposed under different light conditions

This dataset consists of CEL-seq2 data generated from dissociated cells of biologically replicated individual larvae of the demosponge Amphimedon queenslandica. A total of 16 CEL-seq2 libraries were prepared, capturing transcriptomic differences between larvae exposed to constant light and natural light conditions. These data reveal changes in gene expression under different light regimes and elucidate how light regulates the acquisition of settlement competence in sponge larvae. This resource provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the response to a major environmental factor in a basal metazoan, offering an important tool for researchers in developmental biology, gene regulation, and evolutionary developmental biology.
