Shake-table testing of three identical clay-URM buildings under multi-directional seismic input motions (EUC-BUILD-8.1, -8.2 & -8.3)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset comprises recordings of acceleration and displacement from a series of shake-table tests aimed at evaluating the influence of multi-directional ground motions on the seismic performance of unreinforced brick-masonry buildings. The research was motivated by observations of significant structural damage in the vicinity of the fault after an earthquake, where horizontal and vertical ground motions are often powerful and synchronised. The experiments included three nominally identical building specimens subjected to the principal horizontal component alone, the horizontal component combined with the vertical one, and the full three-component ground motion. The buildings incorporated structural and non-structural elements such as gables, chimneys, and parapets. Each building specimen was subjected to simulated near-source ground motions of increasing intensity up to the attainment of near-collapse conditions. Two distinct sets of three-component earthquake records were utilised to assess the impacts of both tectonic and induced seismicity scenarios. The findings from these experiments substantially augment our understanding of the multi-directional acceleration effects on masonry structures. The shake-table tests were conducted between 2019 and 2020 at the SHAKELAB testing facilities of the EUCENTRE in Pavia, Italy. They formed part of the EUCENTRE Foundation project 'Study of the vulnerability of masonry buildings in Groningen', within the research framework programme on hazard and risk of induced seismicity in the Groningen province, sponsored by the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij BV (NAM). The project was executed in collaboration with the research group of Masonry Structures from the University of Pavia in Italy.
