Peucedanum praeruptorum is one of the widely used Chinese medicinal plants and is also listed in each version of the China Pharmacopeia. It is the main coumarins resource of TCM for it is rich in all five types of coumarins. On that account, P. praeruptorum was employed as experimental materials to investigate the coumarins biosynthesis and evolutionary mechanism and we deemed it would have all the candidate genes involved in formation of five types of coumarins.
