A novel real-time PCR kit for detecting group B Streptococcus in pregnant women - a diagnostic validation study

This project aims to detect and characterize Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Streptococcus) colonization in pregnant women using both real-time PCR and traditional culture-based methods. Vaginal and rectal swab samples were collected at 36-38 weeks of gestation, and sequencing data from discordant samples were generated to confirm GBS presence. The submitted data supports the evaluation of molecular diagnostics in prenatal screening programs.
