The 16S gene marker has been chosen to identify the prokaryotes in the planktonic water samples across the Pacific ocean. Water samples surrounding the coral colony and at the reef surface were collected. They were filtered to obtain different size fractions : S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm for coral surrounding water; S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm, S>20µm for surface water and S0,2-3µm, S3-20µm, S>20µm, S>300µm for near island water.
