Zooplankton displacement volumes calculated from net tow sampling by the MOCNESS Plankton Tow System, Continental Margin Western Antarctic Peninsula, GLOBEC.

Zooplankton displacement volumes (biovolume) and dry weight calculations are
derived from MOCNESS-1 plankton tow samples collected from 4 cruises to the
Antarctic, 2001 and 2002. The general survey area includes: the continental
margin to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula extending from the northern tip
of Adelaide Island to the southern portion of Alexander Island and east into
Marguerite Bay.

The MOCNESS-1 unit has a net mouth opening of one square meter at a 45 degree
tow angle, net size of 335 microns, and the ability to sample at nine different
depth intervals over the duration of the tow.
