Administrative Limits — Province of Prato

The definition of a map archive of administrative domains is of fundamental importance to all geographical data. Especially in relation to thematic ones, which constitute the rule of law of the territory. A single archive of administrative limits, defined and shared between the bodies responsible for determining spatial planning, minimises, in fact, the aspects of ambiguity and uncertainty encountered in the management of the acts and instruments of the government of the territory — in particular in the application of those parties that interact directly with the right to property. The definition and sharing of a single archive of administrative areas is therefore a necessary condition for the computerised management of digital geographical data within the Regional Geographic Information System, as defined by Regional Law No 1 of 3 January 2005, Standards for the Government of the Territory. The main feature of the archive of administrative areas is, however, that it is a technical reference tool for the establishment, verification and circulation of consistent and immediately integrated spatial information into the Regional Geographic Information System; it is therefore valid in this context. In this regard, it is worth pointing out that the creation of the archive and its sharing within the regional geographical information system does not necessarily imply its value as an official data, thus proving for legal purposes, in the resolution of administrative technical disputes
