An annotated list of datasets on aquatic invasive alien rodents and their management mobilised through the LIFE MICA (Management of Invasive Coypu and MuskrAt in Europe) project

This publication provides an overview of datasets that were mobilised through the LIFE MICA project. This European co-funded LIFE project tested innovative techniques for a more efficient control of invasive muskrat and coypu populations and sought to enhance cross-border cooperation between the Netherlands, Germany (Lower Saxony), and Belgium (Flanders) by centralising data on the occurrence and management of invasive alien rodents (LIFE MICA 2023). These datasets contain records of muskrat, coypu and their management. They were published on the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) as one of the project outputs and were used for creating an online Muskrat and Coypu monitor to visualize and explore occurrences of aquatic rodents and their management (Cartuyvels et al. 2024). For every dataset, a short description is provided of the data publisher, the taxonomical, temporal and spatial scope of the data, the information and the number of records contained in the dataset. The description also includes a method step description of the publication flow.
