This sample set was used as a use case example for employing virus amplicon sequencing in the manuscript for vAMPirus, an automated virus amplicon sequencing analysis program. The project included RNA virus (dinoRNAV major capsid protein) amplicon sequencing libraries produced from coral tissue (Acropora hyacinthus, n=8; Pocillopora sp. complex, n=5) and feces of coral eating fishes (corallivores; Cheatodon reticulatus, n=4; Cheatodon ornatiscimus, n=2). The main goal of the project other than illustating vAMPirus usefulness for non-model virus data analysis was to assess and compare the diversity of dinoRNAV communities in three major resevoirs on the reef (coral tissues and corallivore feces).
