Soil and charcoal samples from a sequence of late Holocene terraces along Bowl
Canyon Creek in northwestern New Mexico were examined to recover organic fragments
suitable for radiocarbon analysis. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and
potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
