Resource Recovery, Environmental Risks, and Conversion Technologies: A Thematic Overview of Sewage Sludge Management Research

This document describes the PRISMA checklist and flowchart for the manuscript titled ‘Resource Recovery, Environmental Risks, and Conversion Technologies: A Thematic Overview of Sewage Sludge Management Research.' The study employed a systematic bibliometric analysis to examine the thematic structure of sludge management (SM) research. Data were sourced exclusively from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection. A comprehensive search encompassing publications on wastewater sludge management (SM) from 2015 to 2024 was executed on January 3, 2025, applying the query (in title, abstract, and keywords): “sludge” AND (“recycl*” OR “reuse” OR “treatment” OR “reduc*” OR “management”). This initial procedure yielded 16,509 records. Further details on the exclusion and inclusion criteria, as well as the steps taken in shortlisting the dataset, are shown in the PRISMA checklist and flowchart.<br>
