We assessed the presence/absence as well as percent cover of Fomes fomentarius (Tinder fungus) fruit bodies on deadwood objects in the Bavarian Forest. The deadwood object types were: snags, logs, or stumps. This dataset was used to assess the question - what is the effect of deadwood type/stock as well as microclimate on the occurence and abundance of Fomes fomentarius?
