We determined the effects of hypoxia exposure on grass carp larvae survival within certain developmental periods. Our goal was to establish a baseline lethal DO concentration based on both time of exposure and water temperature. In 2023 we used 6 different low dissolved oxygen concentrations (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 mg/L plus a control of 7.0 mg/L) to test survival during short term exposures (less than 12 hours) over 3 water temperatures (23, 25 and 28 degrees Celsius). In 2024 we used 3 different low dissolved oxygen concentrations (1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 mg/L plus a control of 7.0 mg/L) to test survival over longer exposure times (24, 48 and 72 hours) at just one temperature, 26 degrees Celsius.
