Eustoma grandiflorum Genome Sequencing

Eustoma grandiflorum is produced for cut flower. Eustoma originated in North America, while now the breeding and production are popular all over the world. Particularly, many Japanese seed companies contribute to the breeding and produce various new cultivars. But in Gentianaceae, the family to which Eustoma belongs, the genome of any crops has never been sequenced. To advance the Eustoma breeding more speedy and efficiently, the genomic database needs to be constructed as soon as possible. In this project, we are going to finish the draft genome of Eustoma and finally provide the genome database for all researchers and breeders.
