The transcriptomes of two Hadruris scorpions were analyzed to determine the components expressed in the venom glands and perform phylogenetic analyses. New and previously published transcriptomic resources were used to assess the evolutionary relationships of closely related scorpions from family Hadruridae, and their toxins. The incidence of scorpine-like peptides (SLP, a type of potassium channel toxin), which were previously known from 24 scorpion species, was assessed.
