Transcriptome analysis of autotrophic and heterotrophic cells and the transition states in a unicellular red alga Galdieria partita

Galdieria partita is a unicellular red alga which switches between autotrophic and heterotrophic growth depending on the presence or absence of sugar. In order to elucidate the characteristics of gene expression in G. partita cells under autotrophic and heterotrophic conditions and during the switching between the two conditions, RNA-seq analysis of G. partita cells under these conditions was performed.
