资源简介:

The Atlas of Northern Gulf of Mexico Gas and Oil Reservoirs is a compilation of geologic and engineering data for over 4,000 reservoirs in the Gulf Coast region. Data was compiled through a cooperative effort among: the Geological Survey of Alabama ("http://www.gsa.state.al.us/"), The Basin Research Institute ("http://appl003.lsu.edu/natsci/lmnh.nsf/$Content/Log+Library+Staff+Directory?OpenDocument"), Louisiana State University ("http://www.lsu.edu/"), the Minerals Management Service ("http://www.mms.gov/"), and the Bureau of Economic Geology ("http://www.beg.utexas.edu/"). The following was abstracted from the BEG's publication announcement: The Atlas of Northern Gulf of Mexico Gas and Oil Reservoirs: Volume 1: Miocene and Older Reservoirs is the first in a series of two volumes that document principle geologic and engineering characteristics of natural gas and oil reservoirs of the offshore northern Gulf of Mexico basin. Volume 1 provides aplay framework for analyzing Mesozoic (Jurassic and Cretaceous), Oligocine, and Miocene reservoirs. Volume 2 presents a similar framework for Pliocene and Pleistocene reservoirs. The first volume of the atlas surveys 4,325 reservoirs in the Federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) and offshore state waters of Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. For the frst time, engineering and production data from all reservoirs in offshore waters have been compiled nad presented in a unified format. The reservoirs in 645 fields have been organized into 72 plays and subplays primarily on the basis of age, depositional environment, and structure. Reservoir attributtes and GIS data are conveniently tabulated on the CD-ROM that accompanies the atlas. The data files include (1) geologic and engineering attributes of reservoirs, pools, fields, and plays and (2) GIS files of the boundaries of fields and plays, the shoreline, State-Federal areas, and area boundaries. A GIS data browser (ArcView 1.0) is included in the CD-ROM. An abridged version of the data is available at: "http://www.beg.utexas.edu/"
