From host individual traits to community structure and composition: Bartonella infection insights

The aim of this study is three-fold. First, data on Bartonella infection across rodent communities were employed to investigate which host traits at the individual level are mostly associated with odds of Bartonella infection and how community diversity affects the infection odds in Atlantic Rainforest areas. Second, we also aimed to assess whether Bartonella infection probability would be affected by host functional and phylogenetic similarities considering mammal species belonging to different taxonomic orders occurring in Brazil. Finally, we aimed to examine whether host trait patterns affect host centralities in Bartonella lineage sharing recorded in Brazil.
