Gut Microbiota Mediates Local Kynurenine Pathway Activity Independently of Inflammation Through Host Micronutrient Absorption

This BioProject contains host transcriptomic and gut microbiome sequencing data generated from experimental animals subjected to different treatments for studying the role of the gut microbiome in regulation of the host's tryptophan metabolism. RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was performed on small intestine, liver, and spleen tissues collected from untreated controls, AVN-treated animals (ampicillin, vancomycin and neomycin in drinking water for one week), and animals challenged intraperitoneally with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was conducted to characterize gut microbial community composition across different antibiotic, and probiotic treatments.
