This study developed an embedded cement-based piezoelectric ceramic sensor, which was embedded into an anti-slide pile to conduct a four-point bending loading test. Acoustic emission (AE) equipment was utilized for data acquisition, and comparisons were made with conventional commercial AE sensors to verify the feasibility and accuracy of the self-made cement-based piezoelectric ceramic sensor. In this experiment, four piezoelectric ceramic sensors were fabricated, and a conventional commercial AE sensor was installed at a position adjacent to each of the piezoelectric ceramic sensors, followed by comparison of the data collected by the two types of sensors. A total of four datasets are available, with each dataset containing data from one piezoelectric ceramic sensor and one commercial AE sensor at an adjacent corresponding location. Experimental results demonstrate that the embedded cement-based piezoelectric ceramic sensor exhibits high sensitivity and can operate under quasi-static loads, which holds important significance for internal fracture monitoring of mass concrete structures.
