资源简介:

This files are data relative to rock deformation experiments conducted on Triassic Evaporites (anhydrite and dolostone) borehole samples, supporting the study "Strain-rate-driven transient embrittlement explains distributed seismicity". This dataset contains raw data from triaxial compression experiments performed on cylindrical samples of the Triassic Evaporites using a triaxial rig installed in the Rock Mechanics Laboratory of the Department of Earth Sciences, Durham University. The experiments consist of a first load-to-failure stage, where samples subjected to confining pressures of 10 or 20 MPa are loaded at strain rates of ~ 1e-4, 1e-5 or 1e-6 s-1, and a second fault reactivation stage. This experimental procedure allows the characterization of the failure mode and resulting fault slip behavior. The CSV files include time series of mechanical variables such as confining pressure, axial (vertical) load, and axial displacement. Information on how to convert these measurements into geologically meaningful quantities can be found in the manuscript, supplementary material and references therein.
