Cruise NBP01-01 jumbo piston cores (JPC) were measured on the
Geotek Multisensor Track (MST) housed at the Antarctic Research
Facility, Florida State University. Bulk density was measured using a
gamma-ray porosity evaluator (GRAPE).
Measurements were made every 1 cm on whole cores. Calibrations were
made using an aluminum block of varying thickness submerged in
distilled water. Bulk density data are contained within a master
Geotek MST file. Data columns in the file include: Depth (mbsf), core
section # (bottom of core = section 1), measurement interval (cm
within a section), P-wave amplitude, P-wave velocity, bulk density as
determined from gamma-ray attenuation porosity evaluator (GRAPE) in
units of g/cc, and magnetic susceptibility in uncalibrated Bartington
units * 10^-5 SI.
