This is the first annual technical report for Exploration Permit Minerals (EPM) 26573, Elyse 3. The exploration permit for minerals was granted on 27 September 2019 over 22 sub-blocks and is valid for five years. The Tenement covers a portion of identified bauxite-laterite plateau that extends from the mining lease (ML 7031) and runs through the contiguous licences, EPM 25526 and EPM 26076, both held by Rio Tinto Exploration (RTX). The Tenement is partially contained within a Strategic Environmental Area.
No field work was completed by RTX during the period.
Field access to the area was hampered due to Covid 19 disruptions, leading to re-prioritising of work programs across the RTX portfolio of projects. It is planned that initial field work and land access discussions will take place in year 2 of the tenure.
