Comparative Metagenomics Analysis of Crude Oil Polluted, Unpolluted and Remediated soil in Niger Delta

The microbial communities have the sole responsibility of many of the biological processes in soil, some of which include their crucial role in nutrients cycling and their exceptional ability to transform the crude oil polluted environment. For this study, the microbial community structures of fifteen crude oil polluted samples, three crude oil remediated samples and five crude oil unpolluted samples originated from different locations in the Niger Delta were elucidated. The soil microbiome was determined using the Illumina MiSeq platform based on the 16s rRNA gene . We aimed to profile the microbial communities of crude oil contaminated soils in Niger Delta Nigeria
