The effects of milking and cleaning procedures on the quality and microbiome of raw goat milk

This article presents a case study on the quality and microbiome of raw goat milk from farms across Oregon, USA. The study investigates how variations in milking and cleaning practices affect the microbiome diversity and overall quality of the milk. Milk samples were collected from multiple farms at different time points to ensure robust data while minimizing pseudoreplication. Microbiome analysis through sequencing was conducted to compare microbial communities across farms, providing insights into how treatment practices influence milk safety and quality.
