Microbial community structure analysis for monitoring the pH changes on plate media during culture.

In this study, we monitored the pH changes on plate media during culture as a goal of cultivation of uncultured bacteria. The novel culture method was developed, which can suppress the occurrence of pH change and ununiform pH distribution on the plate during culture. In the culture of soil sample, it succeeded in exclusion of pH change effect on the plate and was appreciated the existence of novel bacteria cultivated only applying the method.
