Financial institution account female ownership rate India 2011-2017

About 77 percent of women surveyed in India reported to own an account at a financial institution in 2017. This was an significant increase compared to only 26 percent in 2011. The reason for these could be increasing urbanization and rapid digitization following the Digital India campaign by the Narendra Modi-led government.
