资源简介:
Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, and distribution of life in the past, present, and future of the Universe. Astrobiology is an interdisciplinary field seeking to answer questions ranging in scale from the microscopic (e.g., the origins, evolution, and extremes of cellular life) to the cosmic (e.g., the formation of planets, planetary habitability, and biosignatures). Many astrobiological studies focus on planet Earth and the Solar System with known instances of life as a guide. The challenges surrounding research topics such as the origins of life, the search for life beyond Earth, and the responsible exploration of space can be obscure and difficult to comprehend. Thus, interpretations and guidance for future astrobiology studies can derive additional benefit from philosophical studies (e.g., how to define life). Finally, astrobiology research requires effective tools for sharing research, creating community, and teaching the next generation of astrobiologists.
