The objectives of this study were to use unilateral naris occlusion (UNO) in order to characterize the effects of olfactory deprivation on the relative abundance of newly generated olfactory sensory neurons that express specific odorant receptors. Comparison of ribosome-bound transcripts of newly generated olfactory sensory neurons from the olfactory epithelia of PD35 Ascl1-CreERT2(+/-); Ribotag(+/+) mice that underwent UNO and tamoxifen treatment at PD14 and PD28, respectively.
