We set up methanogenic n-alkanes-degrading enrichment cultures using an inoculum of oily sludge from Shanghai oil refinery. After 10-years successive incubation and three transfers, we harvested the biomass for 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing, metagenomic sequencing and metatranscriptomic sequencing.
