Here, datasets and code associated with the development and deployment of an in situ stereoimaging system for zooplankton observations are provided, as described below. (a) DATASET This dataset contains the following 4 zipped files, representing image data from an in situ stereoimaging system for zooplankton observations. These constitute two separate movie sequences (each sequence consists of two simultaneously recorded files from the primary and secondary cameras of the stereo-imaging system respectively). Ctenophore_Primary: Individual images from primary camera showing ctenophore movement [N=261 images]. Ctenophore_Secondary: Individual images from secondary camera showing ctenophore movement [N=261 images]. FishSchool_Primary: Individual images from primary camera showing fish school movement [N=61 images]. FishSchool_Secondary: Individual images from secondary camera showing fish school movement [N=61 images]. Movie1_Ctenophore: Combined video (slowed down to 5 fps for better visualization) showing ctenophore movement, featuring primary and secondary camera images (from files 1 and 2). Movie2_FishSchool: Combined video (slowed down to 5 fps for better visualization) showing fish school movement, featuring primary and secondary camera images (from files 3 and 4). (b) CODE A single text file (Stereo_Processing_Code.txt) including the following codes for data processing (additional description in the text file): Python script: Stereo-processing code that generates a depth map using a pair of stereo images and corresponding calibration data. MATLAB script: Post-processing to analyze the ctenophore related data for producing the figures in the manuscript. MATLAB script: Post-processing to analyze the fish school related data for producing the figures in the manuscript. (c) CALIBRATION PARAMETERS A single text file (Stereo_Calibration_Parameters.txt) including the calibration parameters used for the data processing.
