Comparison of DNA extraction methods for oral bacterial 16S rRNA-V4 sequencing using healthy Japanese adult samples

The project contains bacterial partial 16S rRNA V4 sequencing data of supragingival plaque samples pooled from multiple teeth of 12 healthy Japanese adults. The partial 16S rRNA V4 region (typically 259 base pairs) was PCR-amplified and sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq platform. Paired-end sequencing and dual index tag techniques were applied. All relevant research protocols and procedures were approved by Ethics Committee of Tohoku University School of Medicine, Sendai, Japan. All subjects provided written informed consent.
