[DREAL LR] National Action Plans in Languedoc-Roussillon

The National Plans for Endangered Species are one of the policies put in place by the Ministry in charge of l’'' Environment to try to stop the biodiversity. They are codified to l''article L.414-9 of the code of l''environment:
‘National plans for the conservation or recovery of species referred to in Articles L. 411-1 and L. 411-2 and of species of pollinating insects shall be drawn up and, after consultation with the public, implemented on the basis of data from the competent scientific institutes where the biological situation of these species so warrants. These plans take into account economic, social and cultural requirements as well as the imperatives of national defence. Information on the actions provided for in the plans shall be disseminated to interested audiences; the prescribed information shall also be accessible to them throughout the duration of the plans, in the relevant geographical areas. A decree shall specify, where necessary, the modalities of '' application of this article»
The NAP is coordinated at national level by DREAL Franche Comté. The DREAL Languedoc-Roussillon associated with this NAP, entrusted its animation and its general technical implementation to the Group chiroptères Languedoc-Roussillon GCLR.

In addition, chiroprae species are all species protected-at national level and as such, under the terms of the;' Decree of 23 April 2007 establishing the list of protected terrestrial mammals on the whole territory and the modalities of their protection (OJ of 10 May 2007)
(Article 2):

I. — The destruction, mutilation, capture or removal of animals in the natural environment shall be prohibited throughout metropolitan territory and at all times.
NO, NO, NO, NO. — Are prohibited in those parts of metropolitan territory where the species is present, as well as in the natural displacement area of the nuclei of existing populations, destruction, the alteration or degradation of breeding sites and resting areas of animals. These prohibitions apply to physical or biological elements deemed necessary for the reproduction or rest of the species;' species considered, for as long as #x27;' they are actually used or usable during successive cycles of reproduction or resting of that species and provided that the destruction, '' alteration or degradation calls into question the proper completion of these biological cycles. »
