An actinomycete, Streptomyces sp. PSRA5 was isolated from Panax sokpayensis, a medicinal plant of the Sikkim Himalayas. It was found to have antimicrobial activity against multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The crude extract of the actinomycete was extracted and analysed.
