One of two shaft markers for the former Wath Main colliery (South Yorkshire, UK). Sinking of the first shaft began in 1873, with the workings reaching the highly prized Barnsley seam three years later. The colliery closed on 25 March 1988. The plaque reads: BRITISH COAL CORPORATION / SOUTH YORKSHIRE AREA / WATH COLLIERY / No. 2 SHAFT REF.
