Soil biogeochemistry and FTICR-MS organic matter chemistry across hillslopes, Watershed 10, H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, Oregon, USA (2023)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the soil biogeochemistry and Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FTICR-MS) data supporting the article "Hydrologic History Drives Divergent Soil Organic Matter Trajectories Across Hillslopes" (Takver et al., Journal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences). Soils were sampled from two hillslope positions (High water storage, HS; and low water storage, LS) in Watershed 10 (WS10) of the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest, Oregon, USA, in June and December 2023, at two depths (0–10 cm and 20–30 cm). Samples were analyzed through the Molecular Observation Network (MONet) at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL), a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user facility at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, under user proposal 60921. The dataset includes five files: Extractable inorganic nitrogen (NH4-N, NO3-N) and phosphorus Soil carbon and nitrogen pools: mineral-associated organic matter (MAOM), water-extractable organic matter (WEOM), and microbial biomass Soil ions, micronutrients, cation exchange capacity, and total C, N, and S FTICR-MS molecular formulas and peak intensities for WEOM FTICR-MS molecular formulas and peak intensities for MAOM All files are provided as CSV. The README describes the sampling design, file contents, known naming inconsistencies, and how non-detects are coded, and the data dictionary defines every column, its units, and its allowed values. Unzip data.zip into the root of the accompanying code repository to reproduce the analyses in the article. Analysis code: [code record DOI]. Soil particle-size and other data used in the article are archived separately; see the README for citations.
