资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The series from the Waratah Crippled Children’s Hospital School consists of a single volume, in which are recorded admissions to the school from its opening in June, 1939, although the volume appears not to have been kept up after September, 1940. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name, date of birth and religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, if applicable, and date of leaving the school are also recorded. The volume, as printed, makes provision to record any occupation entered into on leaving school, but as this scarcely applies in the present case this column has been used to record pupils’ destinations on release from hospital.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and numbered in two separate sequences. Following the closure of the school in 1941, this volume evidently remained at the Crippled Children’s Hospital. After the former Kenny Clinic School was relocated to the hospital premises at Waratah in 1944, this volume was kept with that school’s records, with which it was eventually transferred to State Archives.
