In 2018, the producer revenue of bottled water in the United States amounted to approximately 18 billion U.S. dollars. For the fifth consecutive year, U.S. revenue of bottled water showed a continued upward trend. Leading vendors of bottled water Private labels dominated the bottled water market in the United States, generating total sales close to three billion U.S. dollars in 2019. The leading vendor in the country, however, was by far Nestlé Waters North America Inc., with sales in excess of two billion U.S. dollars. U.S. consumers and bottled water American consumers between the ages of 30 and 49 drank bottled water more commonly than other age groups in 2018: roughly two-thirds of this particular group regularly consumed bottled water, while less than 60 percent of people aged 18 to 29 had it regularly. That year, bottled water was most commonly consumed when travelling: approximately 90 percent of U.S. consumers drank bottled water during their travels. Roughly three-quarters of consumers in the country drank it at home.
